Over the weekend my husband, Matt, and I went on a date. It had been a while since the two of us had done something together without bringing the dogs along, so we were overdue for some quality time.

If you know me, I literally bring my dogs with me everywhere.

Walking to my grandmas to borrow some eggs? I take the dogs. Going to visit my dad? I take the dogs.

Going through the McDonald’s drive-thru to grab breakfast on Sunday morning? I take the dogs and they almost always get a sausage patty.

Honestly, I don’t care if people think I’m crazy for taking them everywhere or not. They’re like my children and you definitely wouldn’t leave your toddler at home alone when you run errands. I rest my case.

Anyway, we left the dogs at home this time and drove down to Cookeville, Tennessee to grab dinner and catch a movie.

We ate at a hibachi grill, but ordered sushi. Matt always gets the deep fried kind. He thinks I’m crazy for eating raw fish, but it’s fine.

We had a nice early dinner, late lunch and decided it was too early to head to the theater. So, we dropped in HomeGoods for a bit.

I’ve been on the search for the perfect floor lamp. I can never find anything I absolutely love.

The lamps are either too short or too tall or they never put out the right amount of light. It’s infuriating to say the least.

I looked around at the lamps in HomeGoods for a bit, but didn’t find anything. In my opinion, they were all too expensive for the quality.

HomeGoods is overrated in that way. They often advertise their home decor as cheaper than most stores, but it’s really not.

And the quality is often terrible as well.

We ended up purchasing a toy for the dogs, (I always get them treats or a toy when we go out if they aren’t with us), another bed for the cats, and a seasonal Easter blanket for myself.

Like every other girl, I’m obsessed with blankets. This one in particular had dogs with bunny ears on it. I’m a sucker for anything dog-themed.

You all must think I’m a crazy dog lady by now.

Once we finished at HomeGoods, we headed to the movie.

We saw Ant-Man: Quantamania, and honestly, it was really good! I think Ant-Man is a very underrated superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

You have your Captain America and Thor fans, but where’s all the hype for Ant-Man?

He’s rather cool with his Pym particles shrinking to the size of an ant or growing to the size of the Empire State Building.

He was an integral part in saving the world from Thanos in Avengers: End Game.

Nevertheless, the movie was really good.

It surprised me in many ways. I don’t want to spoil anything, but it does set up the next villain so to speak within the MCU.

If you thought Thanos was bad, just wait until you see Kang the Conqueror.

I’m not really sure how the Avengers and the rest of the MCU superheroes are going to beat him.

Then again, I wasn’t sure how they were going to defeat Thanos either.

For those of you who haven’t seen Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, skip this next part due to spoilers.

Here’s what I think is going to happen:

Wanda didn’t die in Multiverse of Madness.

She’s going to pop out of all that rubble on Mt. Wundagore and use her crazy powerful chaos magic to snap Kang out of existence and that’ll be that.

If anyone can handle Kang, it’s definitely her.

Then again, I’m probably wrong.

I guess we’ll see.

This brings me to my last point. How did this column go from talking about a date to dogs to floor lamps to blankets and then to Marvel superheroes?

Your guess is as good as mine.
