It was a light January docket for the Marion Grand Jury, with only four individuals, three of whom involved drug-related charges, indicted on Jan. 6

Frank Wesley George, 32, of 152 Cliffside Drive, LaFollette, Tennessee, was indicted on 10 charges, including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 2 grams of meth) while in possession of a firearm, which is a Class B felony, which carries a prison sentence of 10 to 20 years); trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces while in possession of a firearm (first offense), a Class D felony (1 to 5 years); first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) while in possession of a firearm, a Class C felony (5 to 10 years); receiving stolen property-firearm, a Class D felony (1 to 5 years); buy/possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree possession of a controlled substance-drug unspecified (hallucinogen-mushroom), possession of synthetic drugs, first offense, second-degree possession of a controlled substance-drug unspecified (Buprenorphine), non-resident fishing without a license-permit, and controlled substance prescription not in original container, first offense.

The Grand Jury charges that those events happened on or about Sept. 16, 2022. The bond was set at $25,000 cash, with no new violations of the law, and no use of drugs or alcohol.

Joey A. Maddox, 39, of 235 Mock Avenue, was indicted for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (equal to or greater than 2 grams of meth), a Class C felony, buy/possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree persistent felony offender. The Grand Jury charges that events occurred on or about Oct. 12, 2022. The bond was set at $10,000 cash, with no new violations of the law, and no use of drugs or alcohol.

Desmond E. Trigg, 21, 555 Maple Street, was indicted for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), a Class D felony, and license to be in possession. The Grand Jury charges that these events occurred on or about Sept. 10, 2022. The bond was set at $2,500 unsecured with no new violations of the law and no use of drugs or alcohol.

David E. Shuck, 60, 2225 Arbuckle Creek Road, was indicted for first-degree assault, a Class B felony, and first-degree criminal mischief, a Class D felony. The Grand Jury charges these events occurred on or about Nov. 4, 2022. The bond was set at $50,000 cash, with no new violations of the law, and no use of drugs or alcohol.
